Research
The General Medicine and subspecialty divisions have generated approximately $70 million in sponsored research support for projects currently active within the Department of Medicine. The Institute for Clinical Research Education, supported by the Clinical and Translational Science Award, supports the training of physicians and other health professionals in the disciplines of clinical research; the Program offers both a Certificate and Master's Degree in Clinical Research. International Scholars will engage in clinical research projects under the supervision of department faculty and complete coursework to achieve the Certificate in Clinical Research. Research opportunities exist in all divisions of the Department of Medicine.

Mentorship
Academic success is not achieved without faculty mentors to provide guidance and support in research, career development and personal growth. Mentorship is provided by faculty within the program and a research mentor chosen by the Scholar. These mentors help navigate the sometimes tortuous path of research and training.
